Who we are
Not a care agency. An extension of your family.
Right Hand Family Care is a diaspora-focused medical coordination, home care and family support service based in Addis Ababa. We exist to solve one problem: the impossibility of being physically present for an ageing parent or an ill relative while building a life abroad.
Vision
To become the most trusted name in diaspora family care across Ethiopia and, over time, the wider African diaspora — the organisation families instinctively call when they cannot be there themselves.
Mission
To give Ethiopians abroad genuine peace of mind by becoming a dependable, professional right hand for their loved ones at home — with dignity, transparency and consistency.
Leadership
Founded by people who understand care, on both sides of the ocean.
Muleta Workneh
Founder & Managing Leader
Muleta Workneh founded and leads Right Hand Family Care. He spent 17 years living and working in the United States, most of them as an engineer at Nike, one of the world's greatest brands. He then founded and ran his own foster care home in Oregon, moving from engineering into care-home ownership and management — a transition that built a successful business and, just as importantly, gave him a deep education in regulated, person-centred care.
He has since moved back to Ethiopia, the country he loves, to serve the community he was once part of. He understands the diaspora feeling from the inside: the weight of being thousands of miles from your parents when they need you most. His mission is to bring the same standard of quality care he was held to in America to Ethiopian families — so that relatives abroad can feel present without being physically present, and reach their loved ones through a service that replaces worry with genuine reassurance and calm.
Ensermu Workneh
Co-Founder
Ensermu Workneh is a co-founder of Right Hand Family Care, based in London, United Kingdom, where he has owned and run an education and training centre for more than ten years. He brings a world of business leadership experience and a strong educational background to the organisation.
From his established London base he facilitates the global diaspora network, connecting families across the UK, Europe and North America with our services in Ethiopia. He also keeps our standards matched to the industry leaders of the developed world, continuously bringing innovation, quality assurance and modern service practice into how we care for families at home.
International liaison office: 24 New Broadway, Ealing, London W5 2XA, United Kingdom.
Governance
Founded by Muleta Workneh and Ensermu Workneh, with clinical oversight from a part-time Medical Director and licensing checks on every member of clinical staff.
Standard operating procedures govern every visit, and written agreements set out scope, pricing and responsibility before care begins.
Multiple payment channels — bank transfer, mobile money and international card processing — keep paying from abroad simple and traceable.
